Kee Joey

Joey is a full-time life enthusiast as well as a mental health and special needs advocate. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Hons) from the University of Sheffield and a Master in Clinical Psychology from UKM.

 

She practised in the UKM health clinic, Hospital Rehabilitation Cheras (Paediatric department) and Hospital Selayang under the Psychiatric department. Throughout the years, she has worked with people from all walks of life.

 

She had experience running group therapy and managing individual clinical cases with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly with a wide range of issues from neurodevelopmental disorders to psychiatric disorders.

 

 Her main therapeutic modality is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) but she also incorporates humanistic approaches depending on clients’ needs. In addition, She is undergoing Play and Expressive Art Therapy training under the American Association of Play (APT), Group Psychotherapy training under the American Group Psychotherapy Association, Early Denver Start Model Training as well as Marriage and Family Therapy Training.
